As early as 1950, in connection with projects for schools and later for the Vienna Stadthalle, a stackable armchair was designed that, with a minimum of variations, has remained timely right up to the present day.
In the first series the moulded seat and back element was formed using individual strips of wood, later using a one-piece unit of moulded plywood, whose appearance was then softened at the back by means of a generous pattern of perforations. In essence, the construction is fashioned to suit the human figure, consisting of a moulded wooden frame, filled out by means of glued-on parts. Following this phase, additional "borrowed" elements, not made of moulded wood were integrated into the carriage, proximal to the rounding arc of the frame, in order to successfully stabilise the slant of the back and seat. This stackable armchair is available in two different widths (10 or 13 holes) and seat heights, in order to make use of the chair in a wide variety of settings.
